DX World of Ham Radio received news from Silvano, I2YSB of an upcoming IOTA Dxpedition to Ghana. Location will be Abokwa Island AF-084, plus mainland Ghana.
Silvano states the 9G5XX / 9G5TT team will meet later this week to discuss dates for the activation, which is looking likely to be sometime in November.

QRV dates Nov.13th to Nov. 27th 2009
9G5TT is the callsign used from the mainland with three on air stations located at Busua Beach in the Ghana Western Region.
9G5XX is the callsign used from Abokwa Island (AF084) with one station on 20 meter band only.
The time of operation on the island will be planned day by day, pending the sea condition and weather forecast.
*We have not licence for this bands: 60 meters and 6 meters .

While continuing operations from the mainland with the callsign 9G5TT, tomorrow morning, sea conditions permitting, some team members will travel to the island Abokwa for an inspection and then decide the exact site from which will then be operational.

Tonight conditions on low bands have improved in the second part of the night and the noise decreased a lot. We had good improvement with the aerials in 160, we made 100 QSO. Be noted that there are problems with the power generator, we have several black out, 5-6 times just yesterday, so if our signal suddenly disappears for a few minutes or ten minutes, this is the reason.
