The SU8LH Dx-pedition is the first activity from an Egyptian Lighthouse.
The Dx-Pedition QTH is Ras El-Bar Island in Dumyat zone in north Egypt.
Activity from 1 – 9 August, 2009.

Can someone tell me what is required from me as a US Amateur operator Advanced Class license to take a Yaesu FT897D and associated equipment into Egypt and operate for a few days from the Cairo area on or around the dates of 17-18 September 2010? TKS 73 KF8SS

I have inquired about getting an Egyptian license. Basically a work permit and residency in Egypt is required. You cannot get a permit to operate temporarily. You can operate from an Egyptian ham’s home station with his call/your call.
