   Many people have asked about the operating schedule for VE3MOON, so I’ll post what I can.

   There is no formal operating schedule. Generally, those of us working the event are operating from the Canada Science and Technology Museum from 1300-2100 UTC. When there, we can be found on satellites, 10m, 15m, 20m, 40m, and 80m with most of the HF operation on 20m and 40m. Band condx since the start of the event have been mediocre so we have not managed much DX during the early part of the day, although it seems to pick up in the afternoon.

   Outside of those hours, VE3MOON can often be found on 20m and 30m digital, although there is capability to work any HF band in just about any mode depending on conditions.

   Most HF operation so far has been PSK and RTTY, with some SSTV, CW and SSB. Operating mode is left to the discretion of the operator.

   Please note that when operating from the museum we must often respond to the public – the station is a live exhibit at the museum where members of the public can walk up and ask questions (and they do!) so in addition to spreading around the VE3MOON callsign, we’re also showing amateur radio to the public. With luck we’ll get some new radio amateurs out of it!
