VP8DMH – Rothera Base, AntarcticaWednesday Nov 04, 2009
Mike, M0PRL is now active from Rothera Base, Antarctica as VP8DMH. Following info is posted in the Sands Amateur Radio Contest Group: I spoke with Mike M0PRL yesterday on gtalk. Mike is now VP8DMH and has started to settle in at his new home; Rothera base in Antarctica. The picture shows the view from his room at the base. Hopefully we will have more information from Mike soon! Ian J Maude, G0VGS

Sorry to bother you, This is rather random of me to be writing to you but …a cousin of mine, Derek Lee, is a cook aboard the BAS ship and says they just dropped 40 people off at Rothera Base. Having googled Rothera Base your call sign came up as one of the links. I thought what fun to ask if that was how you arrived there! best wishes from London, UK
