The organizers of XR0Y – DXpedition to Easter island (Oct 31 – Nov 15, 2009) announced their QSL policy. Note there will be 2 different QSL routes depending on your location:
Europe, Asia, Africa & Oceania – via SQ8X
North, Central & South America – via Radio Club de Chile.

Apart from a regular QSL card, the team decide to print a very limited amount of extraordinary cards for collectors. Stan, SQ8X says “it’s gonna be something really special”.
XR0Y announces a new Twitter feed at: http://twitter.com/XR0Y so if you have been subscribed to the previous one ending with …/xr0ya, change it now.
I enjoyed making contact with XR0Y on 30 meters CW with my old Kenwood TS-130S and my homemade Carolina Windom up 50 feet. No amp here running ‘barefoot’. Nice strong signal here in Olympia, Washington the state Capitol. Can I get my name on a list for the ‘Special’ QSL card? I would really like to display this on my wall. I don’t get to operate a lot as I’m on oxygen 24/7 now and use only CW. This SPECIAL QSL card would mean a lot to me as I’m not one of the Big Guns with a big amp and a tower up 75 feet with a Stepp-ER antenna at the top..hi hi It takes a lot of patience to work the huge pile-ups with 90 watts and a wire antenna but oh such a thrill when I do..hi hi I just turned 68 and have been a ham sicne 1957 when I started out as Wn7JBJ. I then got my General three months later and had that call for many years even during my 17 years in Top Secret Crypto DF Communications in the U.S.Navy. Finally after 51 years I decided to take my Extra Class test so I could work the lower portions of the CW bands. I took and passed the Extra Class missing only two question on January 21, 2009. My son got me an MFJ Extra Class study guide for a Christmas present so I only had three weeks to study before the test date. I want to thank you all again from XR0Y for being able to work historical Easter Island. Thank you.
