   It is with great regret that we have to announce that Nils, SM6CAS has had to withdraw from the dxpedition. This is due to his wife’s health. Aila has been ill since 12th January with a severe lung problem which has still not been diagnosed.

   Nils is very keen for this dxpedition to go ahead even though he cannot join us. He has been planning this for several years and he is the major financier of the project. We owe Nils a deep debt of gratitude for supporting this trip under the circumstances.

   Nils will be the QSL manager for all 4 islands. Please be generous with your green stamps etc to help him recover some of this major financial outlay.

    Our boat will be diverting to Fanning Island to pick up some passengers for Christmas Island. We expect a delay of 2 or 3 days. This will probably reduce the time on some islands.

    Called 2 times on 30 mtrs with 100 Watts + dipole and Bingo!
    Try to catch you on other bands.

    Hello Art, here is the latest news from their web site:

    We should arrive Starbuck your Sunday morning (our evening). If we can land before dark we could be QRV that day. We are used to putting antennas up in the dark! BTW we stay on the islands and cannot easily get back to update you during the activity days. Propagation conditions on Flint were very disappointing. Virtually no EU QSOs. Q totals for the 2 days operation approx 5,500. All ok except Steve, 9M6DXX had violent stomach pains today. The pains have gone and he is now sleeping. 73 Derek

    Thank you very much for your DXpedition gift to all radio amateurs who you worked and for the opportunity to connect with remote IOTAs via the airwaves. It is always a special event when new contacts can be had and these events inspire renewed interest for all DXers, even the less fortunate who cant bust thru the pile ups and log a QSO.

    East Coast of the US,esp with a low height yagi. Reasonable copy at 01:00 – 02:00 UTC.
