Active Regions:
AR1150 – Sunspots inside: 5; Area: 10; Flares in the last 48 hr: B2.4, B6.2, B6.7;

Solar Flux @2800 MHz: 81 sfu (Penticton)
Trends: After the 1st spotless day of 2011, the Sun today has two new AR: 1150 & 1151. However, the total perturbated area on the Earth-side face is 30 millionths of the hemisphere: more than one tenth smaller than two days ago. For now, Solar Flux level fortunately hasn’t been affected so much. The AR1151 is enough close to the western limb of the star, so in the next few hours its influence will be null.
From the Behind there are no interesting situations so that the AR1150 will drive solar activity for the next days, unless appear new regions.
X-Ray levels are now enough calm.

The old AR1149 produced yesterday an M1-class solar Flare and a bright coronal mass ejection, indicated by the green arrow in the plot.
A couple more words on the coronal holes appeared on the Sun. The circuled one on the picture is the bigger hole. For now its effects will not reach our Planet. Wind stream levels will be calm.
A red arrow shows the other hole. We say “smaller” becouse its visible area is evidently smaller than the circuled one. However its effects will be clearly weaker.
Geomagnetic activity:
A: 5 – K: 1 (06 nT)
Propagation
Propagation levels have been very low during these days. Due to levels we reached, MUF indices are enough low. DX activity is expecially focused on 20 m; low activity on 15 m. 10 m might offer good openings only in the s. hemisphere countries, due to a different influence of the Sun in this period. Low Bands will be calm enough due to low levels of A and K indices.
I’m preparing a new special Bulletin on propagation chances for VP8ORK DXpedition. It will be online in the next hours.
