   Hello dear fellows.
   The information is true, any amateur radio activity is prohibited from Saint Peter and Saint Paul Islands, due to problems caused by a group of operators some years ago. This is too bad, but be sure that here in Brazil, we are trying to find a way to change this situation. Hope we can have some good news in few months.

   The same issue applies to many other small islands (such as ZL8 and ZL9): inconsiderate hams can cause significant environmental damage and harm the chances of future visits. On the other hand, DXpeditions can be planned and conducted to minimize environmental impact, and perhaps even leave these places better than they found them (e.g. by conducting actual research, installing or checking/reparing permanent scientific equipment, and removing rubbish). There’s a lot to be said for small camps running simple equipment near the water’s edge.

   But I don’t think it necessarily has to be from inconsiderate hams. Since the area is so small, just having a few people on there will disrupt the environment.

   If we really want to save those environments, it is best to just delete these types of entities from the awards.

   That way everyone wins.

   once again the majority will pay for some ‘locos’ !its the easy way taken by the brazilian gov !! if they dont want do make their sovereinty reign on the island ,they just have to leave it to another more responsable gov !!brazilians ham wont appreciated my statement ,but let me say this to the socilists at your gov:if you cant manage it correctly JUST LEAVE IT ! it is simple !!
