Many will remember Pierre ZS1HF operating from Marion island as ZS8M during the 2010/11 scientific season.
News today informs Pierre has set up a shack near Cape Town for disabled amateurs, using money received from QSLs sent [for ZS8M activity].
Ham spirit alive and well!

The complete station consists of a 22 Amp PSU, IC-718 and voice module, HF broadband dipole, pole and coax.
Pierre also supplied three visually impaired hams each with an Icom VHF portable.
