UPDATE: FT5WQ/MM was QRV earlier today off the Crozet coastline. No official word if he’ll land and operate from this most wanted DXCC, or continue his journey. However, other sources suggest Gildas will be active for 1-2 days from the island within the next week .
Gildas, TU5KG is now QRV under the calls FT5WQ and/or FT5XT. Most of the time he will be active as Maritime Mobile when in the Crozet and Kerguelen region, however he can occasionally be operational from either of the islands.
If active from Crozet or Kerguelen, F4DXW will pass info to this website.
QSL via F4DXW (direct only).

Frankly, I am glad I worked FT5WJ years ago. To use those FT5 calls and to operate more or less only from /mm is nothing more than a puplicity show. The home-call F/TU5KG stands for never having passed a proper license either. How many QSOs have been made from one of the mentioned Islands by that person? I just know of various of 11 Meter activities from there, conducted by that very person. Reasonable DX´ers will not pay any serious attention to such irrelevant announcements.
Hello HALVOR
I have contact with FT5XT from Kerguelen the day 02/02/2011 on 14 Mhz ssb , have also the qsl and dxcc accept this contact ,
what else ?
Unsolicited SPAM, Halvor. That’s what you’re posting, when you “forget” to mention your Ham call.
Take a look to this link:
http://open.salon.com/blog/rick_spilman/2010/06/12/abby_sunderland_rescued_by_french_fishing_vessel_ile_de_la_reunion
and you’ll find people are there to work, primarily, and even occured to make a rescue of a shipwrecked person during their duties.
You’ll find that those F/TU5KG is working hard down there, is not there to satisfy your ego in adding another DXCC to your collection.
Maybe he has spare time for radio, /MM or not, so I simply would like to thank him for his activity. Of course no-one of the guys in TAAF has Ham radio for his primary task.
To post this reasonably idiot comment, it’s another silly armchair criticism. You worked FT5WJ years ago, so you’re OK with your ego and DXCC. It’s enough to shut your mouth!
