30 and 80 meters are not allowed for everyday use in Egypt – emergency communications only (natural disasters etc or getting ready for them) + The Government may reconsider this later but have not done it yet. 6 meters and all VHF are totally NOT allowed.
I have SU9VB confirmed on 30 meters via LoTW from earlier in 2012. I spoke with him the other day about working him on 80 meters – he confirmed that Egypt does not allow 80 meter activity, but does allow 160 meters. Whether that will change or not in the future remains to be seen.
Hi all,
Gerd was active on 30m last December, and I missed him.
Reading the description “no 30m allowed in SU”, I miss this point.
Is this just a licence restiction for this new activity, or is this a permanent restriction in SU?

According to Vlad UA4WHX:
Tnx for the info Col :-)
So we can only expect “temporary” activities on those bands, till SU government reconsider this. This is clear.

I have a DXCC credited 30 meter CW QSO with SU9VB dated November 7, 2011. The exception proves the rule.
