The last of the “Terrible T’s” for me!
Hope to work Fernando soon. Worked him from Z2 last year.
Stay safe Fernando, and hope you can be on air regularly.
73,

Good luck Fernando! Great choice on W3HNK – we’ll get a QSL from Mali yet!
Outstanding op and mgr = success for sure ! take care fernando buena suerte !
Worked him on both 20 and 15 meters; he was very strong on 15 but weak on 20 with lots of intentional QRM on his freq. He has good ears, great operator!
Hi there!
Thanks for the positive comments. I am just on the 100W of my TS590 and a horizontal loop fed through a remote smartuner which seems to work pretty well on all bands but is just a few meters over the ground.
I will put up better antennas at some point when I have the time. I have a nice QTH by the Niger river with room enough for experimenting with wires etc.
There has been great propagation for the US on 15, 20 and 40m in the last couple of days, and I hope it will stay like that. Have not heard much on 80m, and anyway I guess I would need some more power for 80, or 160. I have my linear amp with me, but I need to experiment a bit first as I have neighbors with TV sets and I’d rather keep a low profile.
It is hard to say how long I will stay here. I work for the UN on humanitarian affairs and, as things are, my guess is I will stick around for a few years. But that depends also on the security conditions and right now they are unpredictable to say the least, so we’ll see.
I don’t have regular hours or a very predictable schedule. I have not so much spare time in fact, but I will be on the air as much as I can.
Thanks for calling me in the pile ups and thanks much for your patience. I will do my best to work everyone, and will always try to pick up the weaker signals from within the pile up.
73 and best from Bamako,
Fernando

Hello Fernando:
I’am looking forward to hearing you on the air s.s.b. on 20 meters, and maybe on 10 meters this coming Spring when the sun spots improve. And maybe by that time you should have a beam up. Stay safe, and have fun with the hobby while you are assigned their.

Hi all, and thanks a lot again!
Great propagation on 10m this weekend!
A multi band vertical and a 3 element beam will be the next antennas to put up at TZ6BB when I find the time.
