KC4AAA – Amundsen-Scott station

KC4AAA has been reported active during the last few weeks. Thanks to Ernie W1MRQ who was volunteer examiner, eight people successfully passed their amateur radio exam on October 29, 2010 at Amundsen-Scott Antarctic station.

Obviously, with nine ham operators now based there, it is very good news for all those who would like to work the mythical “South Pole station” at 90°South. [WAP]
