    UPDATE II 3 @ 1600

Operators landed on the Island after a few attempts and they are up with 2 Stations.

    UPDATE I

    04:00am local.

Yesterday the PJ7PK team attempted to land Pelikan island a few times but were unsuccessful due to high sea swell.

Contrary to reports, we have not cancelled and will try again to land today.

The seemingly “easy looking” pictures of the island are very deceiving and it’s not until you are up close and personal with the rock that the true existent of the task is apparent.

    Cross fingers for today !

A team of five operators consisting Dom 3Z9DX, Jeremy EI5GM, Dave EI9FBB, Frans J69DS and Col MM0NDX will soon be on their way to St Maarten with the primary aim of activating Guana Key of Pelikan NA-247NEW.

Approximate dates of activity are scheduled from October 6-10, but as with most island activations everything is dependent on calm seas and good WX.

Using the callsign PJ7PK, the group plan activity on 40-10m, CW/SSB.
