RT9K/P – Zhuravlinyy Island, AS-109

CANCELLED: Pilot station RA3CQ informs that the RT9K/P expedition is cancelled. Temperature in Nadym is over 0 deg C. Snow is melting. The next weeks forecast is also with positive temperatures. Ice is weak for the snowmobile and tricky for a boat to navigate. So the team returns back home – but they can’t use snowmobiles as there is no snow so they will have to find a different method of transportation.

March 27, 2012 — A group of Russian amateurs consisting team leader UA9KDF (Igor), RG8K (Valery), UA9KAM (Artyom), Daniil and Andrey (no calls) will be active as RT9K/p between April 1-5, 2012 from the Zhuravlinyy Island AS-109, Obskaya Gulf group. To reach the island, the team will require the use of three snowmobiles.

    They will use a Kenwood TS-590 & Yaesu FT-857 along with a BiggIR 80-10m and Robinson RR-33 + ACOM-1010.

All QSLs will be sent via the Bureau automatically. However, if you would like to get the QSL direct send to RX9KM.

Online Log here, updated once or twice daily.

Note: Their APRS tracker will be active on 14109 LSB and Igor RA3CQ is the Team Pilot station.
