NEWS UPDATE from DK7LX — QSLs have been designed and ordered and should be available shortly. FP/DK7LX made 866 CW QSO. Many thanks to FP5BZ, Jean-Marc, for helping us with his FT-890 transceiver as well as to FP5CJ, Jean-Pierre, for giving us antenna gear. As a matter of fact, almost all QSOs have been made from mobile with a simple MFJ telescopic antenna on a magnetic mount. Despite some of my own antenna stuff that I carried along to FP, I had my Palm Mini Paddle which enabled me to work CW from any transceiver. Keying from my knees out of the car plus having no filters in the radio was a challenge at times and yet, real fun!

We have purchased a bunch of most beautiful local stamps which will be going out with the first bunch of direct QSLs as a souvenir.

F5TJP and DK7LX had been visiting St. Pierre & Miquelon in September of 2018. Activity was very limited since this was a holiday rather than a radio trip. Yet, thanks to the local radio friends on FP – who have helped us with rig – we were able to call CQ from time to time.

From the 17th to the 20th of September we stayed on St. Pierre Island and from 21st to the 26th September on Miquelon and Langlade Island.

QSL route via respective home calls (DK7LX: clublog OQRS, bureau, direct as well as LOTW after some time Club Log).

SEPTEMBER 29 — We are back on St. Pierre Island since two days ago and will get on air from here occasionally until the 30th of September. We have purchased a bunch of most beautiful local stamps which will be going out with the first batch of direct QSLs as a souvenir. QSLs will be designed and available asap.

SEPTEMBER 24 — We┬┤re currently on Miquelon Island and have been active from here the last three days from the mobile. It is really fun working under such conditions with the exception for me -DK7LX- having only my tiny Palm Paddle on the knees. Once again, it is not a DXpedition but a holiday trip and we’re not QRV all the time. In fact, just a few hours per day. From this coming Thursday/Friday we’ll be back on St. Pierre Island and will get on air from there again like last week occasionally. We’ll be leaving FP on the 30th. FP/DK7LX log is updated daily from paper to PC, so sorry for any typo. FP/F5TJP had a nice SSB run this past Sunday on 20m and we’ll try to get on air on 30/40m if wind allows.

SEPTEMBER 18, 2018 — F5TJP and DK7LX will be visiting St. Pierre et Miquelon. Activity is very limited since this is going to be mainly a holiday rather then a radio trip. Yet, thanks to the local radio friends on FP – who help us with rig – we will call CQ from time to time.
